St. Mark’s Area Main Street (SMAMS) is hiring! We are looking for a market manager who will bring enthusiasm and dedication to promoting and operating the Ashmont/Peabody Square Farmers’ Market during the 2014 season. The market manager will be responsible for managing day-of operations for the market, coordinating vendor relations and recruiting new vendors, implementing community outreach/marketing, developing market programming throughout the market season, and managing and recruiting volunteers. The market manager will report to the SMAMS Executive Director and will be expected to work closely with the farmers’ market planning committee.
An ability to manage multiple tasks at once is required, as is previous cashiering or money-handling experience. The manager will need to be comfortable working both independently and as part of the market planning committee. Ideal candidates will have previous experience managing a farmers’ market, either in a paid or a volunteer capacity.
