Greater Ashmont Main Street is excited to welcome our fourth Executive Director, Jeanne Dasaro!
Jeanne has 15 years experience as a social entrepreneur, artist, and community builder. She got her start in education programming at The Lean Enterprise Institute and later at Liberty Mutual Insurance. Significantly, since 2010, Jeanne has served as the founder of the Wonder Women of Boston network which helps women leaders, artists, and professionals of diverse backgrounds connect with and support each other. In 2013, Jeanne served as the Innovator-In-Residence at Wentworth Institute of Technology.
Most recently, Jeanne served as Executive Director of the Art Connection, working to create access to original works of visual art in every Boston community. Additionally, Jeanne was the Launch and Operations Manager at Quincy Yoga & Massage.
Jeanne demonstrated all the technical and soft skills essential for this role with us, and the hiring decision by the Board of Directors was unanimous. We are thrilled to have her join us in January, to coordinate the work of the Board and our volunteers as we continue to sustain our Boston Main Street district during this pandemic and the economic recovery to follow. She succeeds Jenn Cartee who is wrapping up her five and a half years as ED with us now, but will be available as a consultant to Jeanne during her early weeks.
Jeanne grew up in Detroit, Michigan, visiting Boston’s North End frequently, where her father’s family still lives. She lived in Dorchester in the Savin Hill and Ashmont neighborhoods for 15 years, before a 2019 move to Quincy.
[Greater Ashmont announced a new ED in November, but when that candidate withdrew for personal reasons, the Hiring Committee decided to re-open the search and reviewed another twenty or so applicants for the role, including Jeanne’s.]
