We are excited to announce new matching commitments to make your contributions to the Revitalizing Peabody Square campaign go even further! This news is just in time for #GivingTuesday, a day of giving celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving to kick off the holiday charitable giving season.
Thanks to the initial 1:1 matching grant from MassDevelopment’s Commonwealth Places Fund ($25,000), we were looking forward to doubling the $25,000 in community support we are seeking. Since that initial grant, other generous institutional partners have stepped forward to triple the impact of our neighborhood donors: the Boston Main Streets Foundation has offered a generous combination of grant ($5,000) and matching pledge ($5,000); the Martin Richard Foundation has pledged its own generous matching funds ($8,750), and Trinity Financial LLC, through their ongoing commitment to the Peabody Square Improvement Fund, has provided the means for us to pledge any gap funding we need to ensure that all community donations up to the campaign’s $25,000 goal will now be fully matched 2:1!
Now, your support has an even greater impact! With these additional commitments, if Greater Ashmont Main Street meets our $25,000 community fundraising goal, we will have secured 100%of the funding needed for the full budget of the Revitalizing Peabody Square project.
We have been blown away by the community’s support for the campaign thus far, and the continued support of friends and neighbors like you is vital to reaching our goal by the December 31st deadline. We hope you will continue to share the news about how to be a part of this vision to transform Peabody Square into a multi-use community hub.
We are so thankful to those of you who have already contributed, and hope those who have yet to do so will consider this opportunity to magnify your impact this #GivingTuesday!
